Charges laid against dangerous driver

One man is being charged after fleeing from police and putting public at risk.

On October 1, 2023, at approximately 3:00 a.m., Quesnel RCMP attempted to conduct a traffic stop with a vehicle on Barlow Avenue near Reid street in the downtown area of Quesnel. The vehicle sped away at a high rate of speed, failing to stop at multiple stop signs. The police investigation was able to identify the driver of the vehicle. Charges have now been laid against a local 24-year-old man, Jackson Nickolet, for dangerous driving and failing to stop for police. Nickolet is scheduled to appear in court on December 19, 2023.
