File # 2025-18888
Prince George RCMP is currently investigating an assault that took place on Friday, June 20, 2025, shortly before 7:00 p.m.
The incident occurred on the 1900-block of Strathcona Avenue, when a man was approached by a large group of youth. An altercation occurred and the man was attacked by several of the youth, at one point being struck in the head by a machete. He received numerous non-life-threatening injuries and was taken to the hospital by Emergency Health Services.
Thankfully, witnesses in the area have been incredibly cooperative with our investigation and from this we know there were three assailants. One suspect, a 15-year-old youth, was arrested shortly after the assault occurred and will remain in-custody until his next court appearance. We are still looking for the other two suspects and are asking that if anyone has any information on who they are or where they are now, they contact the Prince George RCMP’s non-emergency line with that information, states Corporal Jennifer Cooper, Media Relations Officer for the Prince George RCMP.
