Police are investigating after a pedestrian was seriously hurt after he was struck by a vehicle on the Trans-Canada Hwy in Duncan, BC.
On June 4, 2024, at around 10:00 p.m., North Cowichan/Duncan RCMP received a report that a pedestrian was struck by a vehicle at the intersection of Trans-Canada Hwy and Trunk Rd. Initial evidence gathered at the scene indicated that the vehicle, a grey Honda Civic, was travelling southbound on the Trans-Canada Hwy when a man attempted to run, westbound, across the south portion of the intersection cross walk.
The pedestrian suffered serious injuries and was treated at the scene by BC EHS paramedics and the Duncan Fire Department, said Corporal Alex Bérubé, spokesperson for the RCMP in British Columbia. Investigators continue to collect evidence to piece together the circumstances leading to this collision.
