Surrey RCMP investigate shots fired in Newton

Surrey RCMP is currently investigating a confirmed shooting in the Newton area of Surrey.

At approximately 11:00 pm on Aug 4, 2024, Surrey RCMP responded to a report of shots fired in the 14400 block of 72 Avenue. Upon arrival, responding officers located an unoccupied business that had several bullet holes in it. No persons were injured during the incident.

The investigation is progressing and investigators are seeking out surveillance video and interviewing witnesses and property representatives. The motive for the incident is currently unknown.
