On 17 February 2024 at approximately 23:35 hours, Nelson RCMP received a Missing Persons report for a 37 year old male who had travelled to Nelson BC with his wife from El Paso Texas USA. The male was reported missing by his wife after he had left the residence they were staying at in South Slocan and attended his brother's residence in Nelson. When the male did not return to South Slocan his brother called Nelson RCMP. The next morning at approximately 07:49 hours, a friend of the missing male phoned Nelson RCMP to report the male had been involved in a single vehicle accident near the 5000 block of Highway 3A and 6 in Beasley BC. A 1994 Toyota Land Cruiser had been located approximately 60-70 meters down an embankment. The male had been ejected from the vehicle and was located a short distance away. Emergency Services arrived on scene and the male was pronounced deceased. The BC Coroner Service was notified and there was no indication drugs and alcohol were involved.
