Kamloops City

2025-02-24 09:45 PST

File # 2025-5160

A large police presence was visible on the North Shore around 8:45 a.m. this morning as officers responded to a report of an assault with a weapon.

On Monday February 24, 2025, multiple Kamloops RCMP frontline officers were called to an address on the 700-block of 12th Street, where a person was assaulted with a weapon and went to hospital with non-life-threatening injuries. One person was arrested on scene.

The police response was still active and ongoing at the time of this release, said Corporal Dana Napier, Kamloops RCMP spokesperson. Residents are asked to please use caution in areas where officers are attending and avoid the area if possible. As a result, schools in the area were put on a brief hold and secure out of an abundance of caution.

If anyone has information related to the investigation, please contact police at 250-828-3000 and reference file 2025-5160.
