One man arrested following a break and enter

Vanderhoof

On Sunday, June 22, 2025 at 2:00 pm, Vanderhoof RCMP received a report of a break and enter at a residence on 4th Street in the community. It was reported that the suspect may have a firearm.

Police immediately responded and from the description provided of the suspect, a person was quickly located. Police conducted a high-risk arrest and the man was taken into custody without incident. There were no reported injuries.

During the search incidental to arrest, police located and seized an imitation firearm, later determined to be a BB gun.

The suspect was later released by the court for a future court date and is on numerous conditions, one of which is not to be in Vanderhoof, BC.

Police do not believe there is a risk to the public. The investigation is ongoing.
