Police investigate suspicious death

Lake Cowichan

On Saturday, September 28, 2024 just before 7 am, Lake Cowichan RCMP were called to a residence on Ditidaht First Nations.

Upon arrival, police located an adult man who was deceased. Due to the situation at hand, other support units were called to assist, including the Emergency Response Team (ERT).

A short time later, with the assistance of ERT, a suspect, adult man was arrested without further incident.

Police believe this to be an isolated incident and do not feel there is any further risk to the general public.

VIIMCU has been called and has conduct of the investigation. No further details are available however more information may be released as it becomes available.
