Police investigate suspicious item, RCMP Explosives Device Unit responding

On July 10, 2025, at approximately 11:13 a.m., West Shore RCMP responded to a report of a suspicious box located in a parking stall at 866 Goldstream Ave, in Langford.

Officers are currently on scene and have contained the area creating a safety perimeter. Surrounding residences and businesses are being notified. The RCMP Explosives Disposal Unit has been deployed and will be attending the scene.

We ask the public to refrain from attending the area as police continue to work. We will provide an update at a later time.

Update: July 10, 2025 at 5:40 p.m.

The RCMP Explosives Disposal Unit attended the scene and conducted a thorough examination of the box determining that there was no explosive device present. We thank the public and residents of the area for their patience as we worked to ensure public safety in this incident. The area is now clear.
