Mental Health crisis results in police presence on Crawford Road in Campbell River

Campbell River RCMP responded in numbers to a significant mental health crisis in the 300 block of Crawford Road on the evening of July 6th, 2025.

Police were initially advised of a 30 year old male whose behaviour had turned dangerous and threatening at approximately 6 pm on July 6th, 2025. 

Officer's from Campbell River RCMP's General Duty watches, Special Victims Unit, and Police Dog  Services from Courtenay attended to the area and closed off a small physical area.

The man was called out from his home and followed police direction, allowing him to be taken into custody and then taken to hospital without incident. 

"The Campbell River RCMP are very thankful that this incident concluded peacefully. We are also very appreciative for the cooperation of everyone in the area during the heightened police presence", said Cst Maury Tyre.
