The Sunshine Coast RCMP are investigating three separate, but believed related, incidents from December 20th and December 21st 2024.
On December 20th at approximately 12:40am, the Sunshine Coast RCMP responded to the 12800 block of Sunshine Coast Hwy for a report of a male who had been stabbed. Two male suspects fled the area in a vehicle prior to RCMP attending. A local male was air lifted to a lower mainland hospital with serious injuries, but has since been released.
On December 20th at approximately 11:00pm, the Sunshine Coast RCMP responded to a report of a male who had been shot in the Rondeview area of Francis Peninsula Road in Madeira Park. Two male suspects fled the area in a vehicle prior to RCMP attending. A non-local male suffered a non lethal gunshot wound and is recovering.
Immediately following the shooting, sometime between 11:30pm and 1:00am, (late December 20th or early December 21st ) a vehicle crashed into a ditch on Eureka Place near Redrooffs Road in Halfmoon Bay. This vehicle is suspected to have been involved in the earlier reported shooting.
The Sunshine Coast RCMP do not believe the general public is at risk. These incidents are believed related and not random in nature.
The Sunshine Coast RCMP are seeking assistance from anyone who may have witnessed either of the above noted incidents or anyone who may have CCTV/dashcam footage from the date/times in question.
