Lytton, Major Crimes Unit

2025-03-12 10:05 PDT

File # 2022E-3272

The RCMP Southeast District Major Crime Unit (SED MCU) continues to investigate the February 19, 2022, suspicious death of a woman in Lytton, BC.

On February 19, 2022, RCMP frontline members from the Lytton and Lillooet RCMP Detachments responded to a complaint after the body of Shenita Myers, age 27, of Williams Lake, BC, was discovered in a Lytton home. The circumstances surrounding Myers death were quickly deemed suspicious.

The BC RCMP Southeast District Major Crime Unit (SED MCU) was engaged and assumed conduct of the investigation which is now being treated as a homicide. SED MCU investigators continue to speak with witnesses and people in the community.

With the passage of time, it is hoped that someone who may have not been willing or able to talk to investigators two years ago, may now be in a better position to provide information, says Staff Sergeant Jason Smart, NCO i/c of the Southeast District Major Crime Unit.

Anyone with information is asked to call the Southeast District Major Crime Unit information line at 1-877-987-8477.
