BCHP investigates fatal commercial vehicle collision

On June 4, 2024, at 12:42PM, the Clinton RCMP received a report of a fatal collision on Highway 97 just south of Clinton. Police located a collision between a northbound taxi and a southbound delivery truck. Tragically, the passenger in the taxi has passed away. The taxi driver was transported to hospital and is in critical condition. The driver of the truck was injured and was transported to hospital.

The Commercial Vehicle Safety and Enforcement, the Ministry of Transportation and Infrastructure, and Collision Analysis and Reconstruction Service attended the scene and are investigating.

BC Highway Patrol is investigating the collision and is asking for witnesses or anyone with dash cam of the incident to contact BCHP – Kamloops at 250-828-3111 ext. 2 and refer to file 2024-1918.
