Surrey RCMP is seeking witnesses and dash camera footage following a fatal hit and run collision yesterday in the Strawberry hill area.
On November 15, 2023, at approximately 6:56 p.m. Surrey RCMP received a report of an injured person located in the intersection of 120A Street and 75A Avenue. Police and Emergency Health Services attended the scene and despite lifesaving measures, the person did not survive.
The initial investigation indicates the pedestrian was crossing the road and was struck by a vehicle that did not remain on scene. The pedestrian was identified as an 81-year-old man.
The Surrey RCMP Criminal Collision Investigation Team (CCIT) has conduct of the ongoing investigation and are working closely with the Integrated Collision Analysis and Reconstruction Service (ICARS).
Anyone who was in the area of 120A Street and 75A Avenue on November 15 between 6:30 p.m. and 7:00 p.m. who has dash camera footage, or witnessed the collision is asked to contact Surrey RCMP at 604-599-0502.
