Surrey RCMP is investigating a motor vehicle collision that sent a pedestrian to hospital.
On September 11, 2024, at approximately 7:55 p.m., Surrey RCMP responded to a report of a pedestrian struck in the area of 124 Street and 68 Avenue. When officers arrived on scene they located a male pedestrian who was transported to hospital with life altering injuries.
The vehicle involved, later determined to be a 2021 black Kia Sportage had fled the scene of the collision, however officers were able to locate the vehicle a short time later.
The Surrey RCMP Criminal Collision Investigation Team (CCIT) assumed conduct of this investigation and the Integrated Collision Analysis and Reconstruction Service (ICARS) was called in to assist.
The investigation is ongoing to determine the events and any contributing factors that led up to this collision.
