Witnesses wanted in stabbing incident

Kamloops City

2024-08-14 14:31 PDT

File # 2024-26233

The Kamloops RCMP Detachment is appealing to the public for more information and witnesses, in a stabbing that occurred on Monday night on the Kamloops North Shore.

Just before 9:30 p.m. on Monday August 12, 2024, frontline Kamloops RCMP officers were called to the intersection of Yew Street and Tranquille Road, for a report that BC Ambulance had been flagged down and were treating the victims of a stabbing.

Investigation to date leads police to believe that three Kamloops men, 28, 35 and 32 had an interaction with a group of transients that led that to an altercation resulting in the three men sustaining non-life-threatening injuries.

While we are continuing our investigation, based on the evidence gleaned thus far, this incident does not appear random, states S/Sgt. Janelle Shoihet of the Kamloops RCMP.

We are asking anyone who may have been a witness to this altercation, or has video surveillance to call the Kamloops RCMP and cite file 2024-26233.
