On June 6, 2025, at approximately 11:45 am, Langley RCMP received a call for service in the 20500 block of 102B Avenue for a structure fire. (See original release: Langley RCMP - Langley RCMP respond to structure fire)
Police conducted an extensive investigation and determined there were grounds to believe the fire had been set deliberately. Additionally, the officers conducted several witnesses’ interviews and gathered key evidence, it was determined an alleged assault had also occurred during the incident.
Christopher Gerald William England, a Langley resident, was arrested on June 7, 2025 in response to this incident with the assistance of the Lower Mainland District Integrated Police Dog Service (LMDIPDS). Christopher Gerald William England has been charged with multiple offences including arson, assault with a weapon, and obstructing police. Christopher Gerald William England remains in custody pending his next court appearance.
This arrest is the result of diligent investigative work and coordinated response by our officers and partner agencies, said Sergeant Zynal Sharoom of the Langley RCMP. We are grateful for the communities on going support in our investigation.
