The Terrace Emergency Services Bike Rodeo was in full swing at the Sportsplex on July 13, 2024.
Many emergency service workers donned their uniforms to volunteer including the BC Conservation Officer Service, RCMP, Terrace Fire Dept., Thornhill Fire Dept., BC EHS, Terrace By Law officers, and Terrace Search and Rescue.
A huge thank-you goes to Jason Levecque and his team of bike mechanics from the local Fix Cyclery and Cafe who conducted bike inspections and repairs to ensure each child had a safe ride.

Children and their families braved the heat on Saturday afternoon, making their way through a variety of skills stations where bikes were decorated, and riding skills were taught, all while interacting with many emergency service providers who volunteered their time to this event.
Thank you to the Northern Brain Injury Association for their contribution of helmets and other materials to assist with the helmet check station to ensure every child in attendance had a properly fitting helmet.
This event wouldn’t be possible without the time given by our local emergency service workers as well as the contributions from local community businesses, said Cst Cates of the Terrace RCMP. I’m so grateful for all those who are willing to give up their time to make this event happen again and again.
