Richmond

File # 2025-21021

On July 3, 2025, at approximately 2:00 a.m., Richmond RCMP received a report of a threat at the Vancouver International Airport (YVR) Nav Canada Air Traffic Control Tower. The tower was subsequently evacuated. With the assistance of the Integrated Police Dog Services (IPDS), a thorough search was conducted and no threats were located.

The RCMP and YVR take threats of this nature very seriously, says Corporal Melissa Lui, Media Relations Officer of the Richmond RCMP. After the initial investigation, investigators determined this to be a false report, and that there is no credible threat to public safety.

We would like to thank IPDS and YVR staff for their actions and for ensuring the safety of the public, says Cpl. Lui.

Richmond RCMP is continuing the investigation and would like to request that anyone with information regarding this incident to contact the Richmond RCMP at 604-278-1212, and quote file number 2025-21021, or e-mail us at Richmond_Tips@rcmp-grc.gc.ca.
