One man is in custody following a collision that sent two pedestrians to hospital yesterday afternoon.
On September 28, 2023, at 1:00 p.m., Surrey RCMP frontline officers, along with Surrey RCMP Traffic Services, the Criminal Collision Investigation Team (CCIT), and the Integrated Collision Analysis and Reconstruction Service (ICARS), responded to a report that two pedestrians were allegedly struck by a vehicle in an alleyway located in the 5900-block of 172 Street.
The pedestrians, a 24-year-old man and a 24-year old woman, were transported to hospital with serious injuries. A suspect was arrested in the area shortly after the collision.
Nicholas Giles, 24, has been charged with two counts of aggravated assault and two counts of assault with a weapon. He has been remanded into custody until his next court appearance.
Surrey RCMP Serious Crime Unit has conduct of the investigation and they are working to determine all the circumstances surrounding this incident.
