Through this blog, we are hoping to keep the Ashcroft, Cache Creek, and surrounding communities more informed about our ongoing efforts to serve you all. It will be available through local media outlets as well as through the Ashcroft RCMP Media Website.
On March 25th, Ashcroft RCMP responded to a single-vehicle incident on Highway 1 at Highway 97C in the Boston Flats area, where a learner driver had missed their turning. The driver had tried to turn too late at too high a speed and the vehicle ended up perched precariously on an embankment. Ashcroft Fire Services attended scene to shore-up the vehicle, making extraction of both occupants possible. Fortunately, nobody was injured in the incident, which could have ended very differently.
We have all noticed the decreased snow pack this winter. This will more than likely lead to two things - drought conditions and the water restrictions that go along with those conditions, and the increased risk of wildfires due to the dry brush and warmer weather.
By planning ahead, we can offset the potential risks and ensure we are ready should we experience adverse conditions this summer.
