Barriere RCMP investigate break and enter to a rural property, leading to a search warrant and recovery of several stolen items.
On March 29, 2025 the Barriere RCMP were called to the 2100 block of Barriere Lakes Road in response to a reported break and enter. The suspects had apparently broken into a storage container on-site, stealing chainsaws, a welder and various building materials. Additionally, a black Ford F-150 was also stolen from the site.
Through investigation, police were later able to recover the stolen Ford F-150.
Additional steps led to a search warrant which was executed on March 30, 2025 at a property in Barriere wherein most of the stolen items were subsequently recovered.
The Barriere RCMP remain focused on investigating these crimes and are committed to holding offenders accountable for their actions. We encourage all community members from the District of Barriere and Simpcw First Nation to contact our detachment to report similar instances or for information on how best to secure your property, said Corporal Kyle Camalush, detachment commander for the Barriere RCMP.
