Police investigating found body

Port Alberni RCMP is investigating following the discovery of a deceased person in a local park on Monday.

On June 16, 2025, at 5:41 p.m., Port Alberni RCMP received the report of a body in Dry Creek Park. Frontline officers responded and located a deceased person with apparent injuries. Forensic Identification Services attended and processed the scene.

General Investigation Section has assumed conduct of the ongoing investigating and is working with BC Coroner’s Service to determine the circumstances that lead to this death. Based on the initial information the death is being treated as suspicious.

The deceased person has been identified, however their name is not being released at this time.
