A man was taken into custody by police earlier today, following an appeal to the public for assistance.
On Wednesday Nov. 13, the Kamloops RCMP Detachment requested the public’s assistance in identifying a suspect who had allegedly rammed a truck into a police vehicle on Nov. 2, 2024. Around 2 p.m. on Thursday Nov. 14, 2024, frontline officers were called to the area of Comazzetto Road and Vicars Road, where a person believed to be the suspect had been spotted.
Officers attended the area and located a suspect, who fled into a nearby commercial establishment, said Corporal Crystal Evelyn, Kamloops RCMP spokesperson. He was taken into custody with the assistance of the Police Dog Service Unit shortly after. It turns out, the man was also allegedly wanted on a Canada-wide arrest warrant.

He remains in custody.
