On Thursday, April 24, 2025, at 2:43 p.m. frontline Trail and Greater District RCMP officers responded to an alarm at a business in the 700 block of Victoria Street, in Trail, BC.
A 36-year-old Rossland man attended the business and became upset after he believed that he was overcharged for food. He threw his food and screamed at employees who then triggered the alarm due to concern for safety.
Officers located the man a short distance from the business. Officers observed the man was allegedly under the influence of alcohol. An officer arrested the man and transported him to the Trail Detachment The officer lodged him into the cellblock. The man allegedly made threats to physically assault the officers while in custody.
The man was later released when sober.
On Friday, April 25, 2025, at 10:20 a.m. frontline Trail and Greater District RCMP officers responded to a report of a disturbance inside a business located in the 2000 block of Columbia Avenue, in Rossland, BC.
The officers located the 36-year-old Rossland man allegedly causing a disturbance and making veiled threats toward employees inside the business.
The officer arrested the man and transported him to the Trail Detachment. The officer lodged him into the cellblock. The man allegedly made threats to physically assault the officers while in custody.
The officer later released the man with a condition not to attend the store.
The officer will forward a report to Crown Counsel about the incident.

On Saturday, April 26, 2025, at 4:30 p.m. a frontline Trail and Greater District RCMP officer received a report about a young child wandering the street in the 1600 block of Second Avenue, in Trail, BC. A witness spotted the child and reported the incident.
An officer quickly located the child who could point out his house. The officer returned the child home to his grateful parent. The parent said the child had escaped the house after waking up early from a nap.
The youngster was in good health after his little adventure.

On Friday, April 25, 2025, at 6:05 p.m. a frontline Trail and Greater District RCMP officer received a report about an allegedly impaired driver travelling along Highway 3B, near Trail, BC.
The officer located the 56-year-old Castlegar man driving the vehicle on Highway 3B near Marcolin Drive and detained them roadside. A BC Highway Patrol officer attended the scene to assist the Trail officer.
The officer observed that the man’s ability to operate a motor vehicle may be impaired by a drug. A demand was read to the man who underwent Standard Field Sobriety Tests which resulted in a fail.
The 56-year-old Trail man was issued a 24-hour Immediate Roadside Prohibition (IRP) under Section 215 of the BC Motor Vehicle Act.
He was issued a $276 fine for No Driver’s Licence contrary to Section 24(1) of the BC Motor Vehicle Act, a $109 fine for Improper Turn at Intersection Section 165(5) of the BC MVA, and a $109 fine for Wheel with Missing Lug Nuts contrary to Section 219(1) of the BC MVA. A Notice and Order was also issued for the wheel defect. The vehicle was towed from the scene.
