On June 22, 2025 at approximately 12:22 AM, frontline Port Alberni RCMP officers were called to a vehicle rollover at the Taylor Main FSR near Sproat Lake. An SUV went off the road and rolled multiple times down an embankment into the lake. The vehicle had 4 men and a woman in it who all suffered some injuries and are expected to recover. The group self extracted themselves from the vehicle and met emergency services on the roadway.
Officers are still investigating the collision but do believe alcohol to be a factor in the collision. We would like thank all our partners and their assistance at this incident, says Cpl. Brett Urano RCMP spokesperson. If anyone has more information or has yet to speak with officers please contact the Port Alberni RCMP at 250-723-2424 and quote file 2025-6092
