Kamloops City

2025-04-29 15:04 PDT

File # 2025-9989

A man discovered deceased in a fire on the North Shore is not believed to be the victim of foul play, following a police investigation.

Just before 2 a.m. on Monday April 7, 2025, paramedics discovered a fire at the corner of 8th Street and Tranquille Road in Kamloops and attempted to put it out. Shortly after, Kamloops Fire and Rescue arrived on scene and extinguished the flames, revealing a deceased man.

Since then, police have identified the victim as part of their sudden death investigation, said Corporal Crystal Evelyn, Kamloops RCMP Detachment spokesperson. At this time, no evidence has been discovered to suggest criminality was involved in the man’s untimely death.

The BC Coroners Service is conducting a concurrent investigation.
