The Merritt RCMP are seeking the public's assistance to identify two suspects who assaulted a barber in Merritt.

On December 16, 2024, shortly after 08:30am two suspects wearing all black clothing with face coverings and gloves entered JJ's Barbershop at the corner of Voght Street and Walters Street. The suspects violently assaulted the lone man working at the shop. Nothing was taken and it appears as if the attack was targeted. Two suspects wearing all black walking away from a white 4 door sport utility vehicle, believed to be a kia sportage, parked on Irvine Avenue in Merritt.

The vehicle was last seen fleeing out of Merritt past River Ranch Road.

The incident appears to be a targeted attack and police do not believe there is any danger to the general public.
