Emergency Response Team assists in Campbell River mental health crisis

On January 20th, 2025 at approximately 8:00 pm, Campbell River RCMP responded to a report of an individual suffering a mental health crisis. With the assistance of the Island District Emergency Response Team and an RCMP Crisis Negotiator, the individual was safely taken into custody without issue.

"In high risk situations, to have everything resolved peacefully is a testament to the professionalism, compassion and skills of our members," said Cst Maury Tyre. "We would like to thank people in the neighbourhood for their patience and understanding during a time of enhanced police presence."
