One person deceased following early morning structure fire

On Monday, January 27, 2025 at 6:27 am, Terrace RCMP responded to a structure fire in the 4500 Block of Olson Ave. The Terrace Fire Department was on scene battling the blaze contained to a garage on the property.

The Terrace Fire Department located and removed one person from the garage. The individual was taken to hospital by EHS. Despite life saving measures taken, the person, an adult woman, was declared deceased at the hospital. At this time the cause of the fire is believed to be suspicious.

Although the investigation is active and ongoing, police do not believe there to be any risk to the general public.
