In June 2023, Surrey RCMP Drug Unit started an investigation into a drug trafficking network that allegedly supplied bulk amounts of illicit drugs to drug traffickers in several Greater Vancouver cities.
The investigation led the officers to obtain search warrant for two properties in New Westminster and Coquitlam. On August 22, 2023, Surrey RCMP Drug Unit with the assistance of Surrey RCMP Gang Enforcement Team, Surrey RCMP Property Crime Target Team and New Westminster Police Gang Unit executed the search warrants.
The first search warrant was executed in the 600-block of Eighth Street in New Westminster and second search warrant was executed in the 160-block of Lucas Court in Coquitlam. One person was arrested and released pending further investigation. The investigators seized the following:
This investigation remains ongoing and a report to Crown Counsel for consideration of charges is currently being prepared.
