2024-02-22 09:45 PST

File # 2024-312

On Wednesday, February 21, 2024 at 6:14 pm, Chetwynd RCMP were called to a home on Wabi Cres in the community.

It was reported that an adult man, a resident of the home, was destroying property within the house. When police attended the home the man stated that he had a firearm and threatened to use the firearm.

When all attempts to have the man exit the home were unsuccessful, and with the threats of a firearm, the Emergency Response Team (ERT) was called for assistance. ERT was able to remove the man from the residence without further incident and the man was uninjured.

The man remains in police custody and could face multiple charges. The investigation is ongoing.
