Police investigating fatal parking lot collision

A Kamloops RCMP presence remains at the scene of a North Shore gas station where a person was struck by a vehicle this morning.

On Wednesday Nov. 27, 2024, at approximately 4:40 a.m., Kamloops RCMP Detachment frontline officers were called to the 200-block of Tranquille Road, where a vehicle struck a person who was sitting against a wall. The victim was sadly pronounced dead at the scene.

A visible police presence is in the area as officers investigate the collision, with the assistance of a Provincial Traffic Reconstructionist, said Corporal Crystal Evelyn, Kamloops RCMP Detachment spokesperson. The driver remained on scene and is cooperating with investigators.

The BC Coroners Service will be conducting a concurrent investigation.
