The Terrace RCMP responded to approximately 157 calls between February 22 and February 28, 2025. Below are a few highlights of those calls:

On the afternoon of February 25, BC Highway patrol conducted a traffic stop with a vehicle which had been driving at a speed of 145 km/hr in a 100 km/hr zone west of Terrace. There were four occupants in the vehicle, including the driver who produced a class 7N licence. The officer conducted an impaired investigation where the driver provided a breath sample resulting in a fail. The driver was served with a 90-day notice of driving prohibition, a 30-day notice of vehicle impoundment and a violation ticket for excessive speed and two counts of driving contrary to restrictions. The occupants were provided safe transportation home by a friend. (2025-1362)

On the morning of February 26, police responded to a report of a residential fire in the Usk area. Witnesses reported that no people were inside the house and no one was injured. File remains open for further investigation. (2025-1389)

Terrace RCMP responded to a report of a man in the Days Inn lobby who was angry and confrontational with staff on February 26. The man was intoxicated, cursing, screaming, threatening to fight, and caused damage. Police attended and arrested the man who continued to be uncooperative with police. The man was taken to cells to sober up and was later released with a court date. This investigation will be submitted to BC Prosecution services for consideration of charges. (2025-1398)

On February 28, around 11:30 pm, police were conducting patrols on Highway 16 in Terrace. An officer observed a brown sedan pull onto the road and accelerate rapidly. A traffic stop was attempted but the driver continued to a residence on Park Avenue where he attempted to run inside a house. Police arrested the man outside of the house. He was determined to be a prohibited driver. The man was released with a court date for the offence, served a 7 day vehicle impound and a box 1 notice and order to repair defects on the vehicle. The vehicle was towed away without incident. (2025-1467)
