A local auto dealer has donated a new vehicle to help out police officers, staff members and volunteers within our Community Policing Unit.

After several years of unstinting sponsorship by the Wood Wheaton Supercentre, who have been providing vehicles to the unit for the past ten years, Wood Wheaton Honda was excited to get in on the arrangement when the search for a replacement vehicle began.

On Wednesday, June 25, 2025, Dave Smith, General Sales Manager at Wood Wheaton Honda, officially handed over the keys to a brand-new Honda CRV. Assistant Detachment Managers Melissa Lang and Krystal Devauld, Community Policing supervisor Sergeant Craig Douglass and RCMP Patrol Volunteer Program Coordinator Mike Burt were on hand to accept the vehicle and offer their appreciation for the generous donation.

Community Policing staff and volunteers rely on sponsored vehicles to provide crime prevention education; to complete vehicle patrols; to attend home and business security assessments and to assist with city-wide special events, states Sergeant Craig Douglass.

Prince George RCMP would like to thank the management and staff of Wood Wheaton Honda for supporting the Community Policing Unit and their initiatives within the community.
