The West Kelowna RCMP Detachment has launched a new Targeted Enforcement Unit comprised of four members dedicated to enhancing community safety through focused enforcement efforts. Their primary tasks include disrupting the local drug trade, targeting repeat offenders, and supporting special projects aimed at improving public safety.
Just one week into operations, the Targeted Enforcement Unit has already made an impact. On Friday May 2, 2025, with support from the South East District Emergency Response Team, they executed a search warrant in the 2400 block of Drought Road. The search resulted in the seizure of fentanyl, cocaine methamphetamine, replica firearms, cash, and stolen property.
The launch of the Targeted Enforcement Unit is a strategic step toward addressing some of the most pressing public safety concerns in our area, said Staff Sergeant Brendan Dolan of the West Kelowna RCMP. The early success of this operation, particularly the seizure of dangerous drugs like fentanyl, demonstrates the team’s effectiveness and our ongoing commitment to reducing crime and protecting our communities.
