Criminal charges laid in 2024 fatal Whiskey Creek crash

The driver involved in a two-vehicle crash that killed a 38-year-old passenger in their vehicle and seriously injured the driver of the second vehicle on February 15, 2024 in Whiskey Creek has been criminally charged.

39-year-old Jasmine Bal of Victoria has been charged with one count of dangerous driving causing death and one count of dangerous driving causing bodily harm. Jasmine Bal is scheduled to appear in court in Nanaimo on March 25, 2025.

As charges have been laid and the matter is now before the courts, no further information will be provided by police.
