Stolen property recovered

Sunshine Coast

2023-10-17 11:25 PDT

File # 2023-7611

On October 15th, an alert neighbor's call to police resulted in the Sunshine Coast RCMP recovering a travel trailer that had been stolen from Chilliwack as well as a stolen construction trailer from Halfmoon Bay.  One of the trailers contained thousands of dollars in stolen tools and household belongings.

Police seized the two trailers and an older model black GMC pick up truck associated to the thefts, and arrested one person on scene. Upon further investigation, police found that a Halfmoon Bay residence where the construction trailer had been stolen from had also been broken into with multiple items stolen.

Police are continuing to investigate these offences and anticipate returning most of the stolen goods to the rightful owners.  If anyone has dashcam footage or exterior video surveillance that would capture the roads in the area of Westwood Road and Wildwood Road or Eureka and Redroofs Road in Halfmoon Bay on October 15th between 3:00am - 5:00 am, they are asked to call the Sunshine Coast RCMP.
