File # 2025-575

On January 15 at 4:30 pm, Mission RCMP were called to a single-vehicle collision on Sylvester Road near Cascade Ridge Drive, in the community of Durieu, east of Mission. Officers arrived to find that a grey Mitsubishi Outlander had left the roadway and collided with a utility pole. First responders worked to extricate the female passenger, whom was unconscious and had sustained serious injuries. Despite their best efforts, the 69-year-old woman died at the scene. The driver of the vehicle sustained only minor injuries.  He was transported to hospital but has since been released.

The Integrated Collision Analysis and Reconstruction Service attended the scene and, together with Mission RCMP’s Traffic Services Unit, are continuing to investigate the cause of the crash. There have been no arrests or charges at this time.

Anyone who saw a grey Mitsubishi Outlander driving in the area prior to the crash is asked to call Mission RCMP, at 604-826-7161. File #25-575.
