The Dawson Creek RCMP has seen a higher than usual level of violence in the community over the past week which appears to be related to the ongoing gang conflict in the peace region.
The community can expect a larger police presence as resources from around the province have been deployed to Dawson Creek. Public safety is our top priority and we continue to focus enforcement efforts on locating and apprehending those responsible.
The resources deployed to the community include BC RCMP North District Major Crime (NDMCU), North District General Investigation Section (NDGIS), Uniformed Gang Enforcement Team (UEGT), E Division Combined Forces Special Enforcement Unit (CFSEU) and members from surrounding detachments.
