The Prince Rupert RCMP wants to inform the public of an investigation that took place over the weekend that ended in three firearms being seized and two people arrested.
On Wednesday November 22nd, 2023 the Prince Rupert RCMP became aware of a Facebook post circulating that included the careless use of firearms. An investigation took place which resulted in four warrants being executed, two in Lax Kw’alaams and two in Prince Rupert. As a result of the search warrants police were able to locate the firearms used in the commission of the offence which have been subsequently seized by the police.

Although the firearms were legally owned and registered properly by the owner, the concern was the nature they were used, Media Relations Officer Constable Brody Hemrich said, handling, storage and safety of firearms is the responsibility of all firearm owners.
