Lake Cowichan
2023-11-08 20:52 PST
For a second year in a row, the Lake Cowichan RCMP joined forces with the 1st Lake Cowichan Scouts, collecting food and cash donations for their Stuff the Cruiser & Fill the Canoe event, for the Lake Cowichan Food Bank Society.
The event, which took place on Saturday October 21st, was held in front of the Lake Cowichan Country Grocer, where RCMP officers and youths from the local Scout group collected just under 500 pounds of food, filling a police cruiser and Scout canoe.
The support from everyone was amazing said Constable David Prak. $1668 in cash donations was collected at the event, which is almost $400 more than last year. The community really stepped up.

Constable David Prak said Without the hard work from the youth, volunteers, and the Lake Cowichan Country Grocer for hosting, this event wouldn’t be so successful. Thank you to everyone.
