The Terrace RCMP responded to approximately 185 calls between March 29 and April 4, 2025. Below are a few highlights of those calls.
Around 2:30 am on March 30, RCMP observed a vehicle in the area of Kenney Street and Graham Ave stopped but running with two men asleep in the front seats. A knife was visible on the lap of the driver. Police directed the driver to turn off the vehicle and arrested him for possession of a weapon for a dangerous purpose. During a search, additional knives were located on the driver. Further items located were suspected Fentanyl and other drug paraphernalia consistent with drug trafficking. Police suspected the driver to be impaired by drug and conducted a standardized field sobriety test which was performed poorly. The driver was arrested for impaired operation of a motor vehicle and released on scene with violation tickets. This file remains under investigation. (2025-2313)
On March 31, RCMP dealt with a man in relation to a by law infraction. During the interaction, a pack of unstamped tobacco was observed in the man’s possession. He was arrested under the Tobacco Act and searched following the arrest which determined the man to be in possession of numerous suspected drugs, a significant amount of cash, and other trafficking paraphernalia. The man was released however the items were seized and the file remains open for further investigation. (2025-2361)
On April 1, while on routine patrols, RCMP observed a pick-up truck driving outside of the painted lines. A traffic stop was conducted to ensure sobriety. The lone occupant and driver of the truck was identified and determined to be sober, however a carton of unstamped tobacco was noted in the vehicle. The man was arrested and a search of the vehicle revealed a second carton of unstamped cigarettes, open liquor, and an unsealed bottle of CBD/THS oil within reach of the driver’s seat. The cigarettes were seized for destruction as they are illegal to possess. (2025-2373)
On April 2, during proactive patrols, RCMP located a man who was arrestable for a previous drug related offence. During the interaction, the man was arrested, searched and found to have multiple baggies of suspected crystal meth, fentanyl, cocaine, unstamped cigarettes, cash and other items related to drug trafficking. All the items were seized to be forwarded to the Civil Forfeiture Asset Unit. The man was released without process at this time. (2025-2432)
