The North Vancouver RCMP are looking for witnesses and dash-cam footage in an effort to further their investigation of a serious pedestrian involved collision.
On December 15, 2024, at approximately 5:30 p.m. North Vancouver RCMP responded to reports of a pedestrian that was struck near Capilano Road and Paisley Road in North Vancouver. Its alleged that a white Jeep was travelling south on Capilano Road when a pedestrian entered the roadway and was struck. The pedestrian was taken to the hospital, where they remain in critical condition.
The pedestrian is being identified as a 16-year-old female from North Vancouver.
The RCMP are conducting a thorough investigation, and are working with partner agencies including the Integrated Collision Analyst Reconstruction Service (ICARS) to determine what happened, said Constable Mansoor Sahak, Media Relations Officer for the North Vancouver RCMP. The driver of the Jeep remained on scene and is cooperating with investigators. The North Vancouver RCMP traffic unit and ICARS are investigating the incident. The cause of the collision is still under investigation, but impairment is not believed to have been a factor.
Anyone who witnessed or has video of the collision and has not spoken to Police, is asked to contact the North Vancouver RCMP at 604-985-1311 and quote file 24-25577.
