Lytton, Lillooet

On August 13, 2024 RCMP in Lillooet were notified of a woman going into parked cars near Russell Lane in Lillooet. An RCMP member attended, the caller pointed out the alleged woman going into the cars earlier. The woman denied taking anything and stated she just opened a car door. She was arrested for Mischief initially for further investigation but later released as the caller did not seek charges nor could state the vehicle which had its car door opened and there was insufficient evidence to proceed.

On August 13, 2024 at 10:57 pm RCMP members in Lillooet and Stl’atl’imx Tribal police member conducted a vehicle check-stop in Lillooet. Drivers were checked for valid drivers licenses, sobriety, and valid insurance. One violation ticket was given for no drivers license and one verbal warning was given for failure to produce a physical drivers license.

On August 14, 2024 a caller in Lytton reported that his neighbours were fighting outside. RCMP members attended and located one of the parties intoxicated with blood on there face. The man stated he did not know why he was attacked by the other party. A witness was spoken to as well. Neither party involved in the physical altercation sought charges. BC ambulance service attended and transported the injured party to a hospital.

On August 15, 2024 a caller in Lillooet reported hearing a man being pinned down. RCMP members attended and located a naked man being held on the ground. The naked man allegedly pushed over a motor cycle and fought another man. The naked man was arrested for indecent exposure, assault, mischief, and for an outstanding warrant. After further investigation there was no evidence to support indecent exposure and assault charges. The man was taken to Lillooet cells where he spent the night, he was released on an Appearance Notice with a court date for mischief and the outstanding warrant.

On August 16, 2024 a caller in Lillooet reported a man in a dark shirt and green pants was covered in sand possibly under the influence of drugs by Old Bridge road in Lillooet. RCMP and Stl’atl’imx Tribal police located a man getting out of the Fraser river. He stated he was simply getting washed up by going for a swim. He denied any drug use and was cooperative, he collected his belongings and departed the area without issue.

2024-1770
On August 17, 2024 Lillooet RCMP member conducted a traffic stop with a vehicle parked by Main street with no license plates. The driver and occupants exited the vehicle and attempted to walk away. The RCMP member detained all parties. The driver was identified, he showed signs of intoxication by liquor. The driver was arrested and given a breath demand. The driver subsequently produced a fail result on an approved screening device (ASD) for alcohol above the legal limit in his system. He was immediately prohibited from driving for 90 days and his vehicle was impounded. The matter was referred to ICBC.

On August 17, 2024 A woman approached an RCMP member in Lillooet and reported she was assaulted by her boyfriend in Lillooet. The woman provided a statement to police where the man allegedly punched and kicked her in the head and held a knife to her eye and threatened to cut her with the knife earlier in the day but also assaulted her 30 minutes prior. Lillooet RCMP located and arrested the accused man. The man was held for a bail hearing and remanded (further held in custody) for his next court date.

On August 21, 2024 a caller in Lytton reported a blue GMC Sierra was driving very slowly on Highway 1 and had crossed over double solid lines at one point. It was reportedly headed toward Ashcroft. Ashcroft RCMP were advised.
2024-1840
On August 23, 2024 at 8:32 pm a caller reported large boulders/rocks had fallen on Hwy 12 around the big slide just south of Lillooet from the heavy rain. The caller was able to drive through and another vehicle hit a boulder/rock and turned around and pulled into a driveway. There were no further concerns other than the rocks/boulders. Dawson road maintenance were advised to sweep the highway.
