Canada Post Scam
Sunshine Coast RCMP asks the public to be especially suspicious of any text messages received relating to Canada Post and possible package deliveries. There has been an exponential rise since the postal strike in fraud attempts including phishing, where the email or text looks like it has come from Canada Post or other package delivery companies.
Found Property
On November 26th a snowboard in good condition was found in the 5400 block of Trail Avenue in Sechelt. If you lost your snowboard and can identify it please call the Sunshine Coast RCMP at 604-885-2266 so we can get you back on the slopes! File 2024-9197 relates.
Stolen Bike
On November 26th a bike was left unlocked for a short time outside the Bank of Montreal in Gibsons and was stolen. If anyone has seen a blue Giant, Talon model mountain bike, they are asked to call the Sunshine Coast RCMP at 604-885-2266, file 2024-9191 relates.
Prohibited Driver
On November 24th, police conducted a traffic stop of a vehicle on Field Road and determined that the driver was a prohibited driver Canada wide with multiple traffic convictions out of Ontario. As the driver was also breaching his parole, he was arrested on a Correctional Services of Canada warrant and charged with prohibited driving from the initial traffic stop. The 23 year old male was held in custody and then transported to a correctional facility in the lower mainland.
