The Surrey RCMP Media Unit is pleased to introduce the Detachment’s newest Media Relations Officer, Cpl. James Mason. Cpl. Mason is now working alongside Sgt. Tammy Lobb and Cpl. Sarbjit Sangha in the Media Unit.
Cpl. Mason has served with the RCMP in B.C. for over a decade, beginning with his initial posting in Mission in 2011. During his service with Mission RCMP, Cpl. Mason took on many different roles, including High Risk Youth Coordinator, First Nations Liaison Officer, Rural Policing Officer, and Media Relations Officer, as well as working in General Duty. He also spent time working General Duty in Agassiz before coming to the Surrey RCMP in 2020 with a promotion to Road Supervisor.
I’m looking forward to being able to connect with the people of Surrey in a new way through this Media Relations position, says Cpl. Mason. I count myself fortunate to be of service to the officers engaged in this community, as I promote their great work in a city that so many call home.
