Electric bikes boost up patrols in the Comox Valley

Comox Valley

The Comox Valley RCMP is excited to announce the launch of e-bikes to enhance bike patrols in our community.

As the Comox Valley RCMP continues to prioritize community safety, the integration of e-bikes into our patrol fleet marks a significant milestone in our commitment to innovation and effectiveness.

In 2019, the Comox Valley RCMP added a bike unit to regular patrol. Having the officers ride bikes has provided them with increased mobility, agility, and accessibility, allowing them to navigate various terrains with ease. Said Cst. Monika Terragni, Media Relations Officer, Comox Valley RCMP. The new e-bikes will offer the ability to accelerate quickly and maintain consistent speeds, empowering officers to respond quicker and more efficiently to emergencies. She added.

This initiative is a pilot program with the potential for expansion.
