Fatal pedestrian motor vehicle incident

The Nanaimo RCMP is investigating a fatal pedestrian collision. The incident occurred at approximately 12:30 PM on Tuesday April 2, 2024 at the intersection of Boundary Ave and Meredith Road. The victim, an adult woman, died at the scene. A section of Boundary Ave from Meredith Road to Nelson St was closed for several hours while policed examined the scene.

The driver of the vehicle involved, an adult man, was taken into custody and is being investigated for impaired driving. There are no further details at this time.
