Highway closed in Roberts Creek - serious motor vehicle collision

The Sunshine Coast highway is closed in both directions between Flume Road and Roberts Creek Road in Roberts Creek.  Traffic can avoid the closure by using Lower Road or Lockyer Road in Roberts Creek. The RCMP and the Integrated Collision Analysis and Reconstruction Service (ICARS) are continuing their investigation this evening.

On Saturday, February 8th at approximately 3:00 pm, the Sunshine Coast RCMP received several reports of an erratic driver in Roberts Creek.  Shortly after, the RCMP received a report of a head on collision involving two vehicles.  Three people are in hospital with serious injuries.  If anyone who has not already spoken with police, witnessed  the collision or the erratic driver heading east toward Gibsons through Roberts Creek, please call the RCMP at 604-885-2266.
